Marriage License Information: 

  • You can apply for a marriage license any time on Monday through Friday, 8:00 am. to 4:30 p.m. at the Marriage Division of the Clerk of Circuit Court’s Office in the Jackson County Courthouse.

  • Both parties are required to come to the office to apply for a marriage license. 

  • Couples are not required to make an appointment when applying for a marriage license in Jackson County. 

  • There is no online application, which means couples will be required to fill one out at the office. 

  • In order to successfully complete the marriage application process, couples must bring the following items:

    • Valid photo identification 

    • Social security number (card is not required) 

    • The end date of any previous marriages 

    • Payment (local checks are accepted for a marriage license and should be made payable to Clayton O. Rooks, III, Clerk of Courts)  ​​​ 

  • Once the application process is completed, couples have to wait for 3-days to receive their Florida marriage license (completing an approved online premarital course will wave this 3-day, mandatory waiting period).
